Established in 2013, cardiology academic department became the first clinical academic department in CH No. 172 of FMBA of Russia. V.I. Ruzov, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, lecturer at Ulyanovsk State University, was appointed Department Head.
Main aim of the department is to provide a more efficient control of cardiovascular diseases (circulation diseases). As part of this campaign, experts of the cardiology dpt. at Clinical hospital No. 172 of FMBA of Russia, together with cardiologists and physicians of the institution, have started to examine the working population of Dimitrovgrad. Stage 1 is planned for screening (questioning) relatively healthy citizens on the first signs of ischemic heart disease, stage 2 – for their examining by several specialists and research works. Further on, the selected people with high and very high disease risk are to start an individual treatment – change of life style and dietary pattern, if necessary, drug therapy will be prescribed. All of them are to take a course at circulation diseases school. Next step is to identify and analyze the extent of medical intervention. If necessary, high technology medical care will be provided by Moscow hospitals of FMBA of Russia.
