The project is realized by AKME-Engineering JSC on public-private partnership conditions in the framework of the federal special-purpose program “Nuclear energy technologies of the next generation for 2010 through 2015 and, as a perspective, up to 2020”
The estimated cost of the project is 36 B. RUB.
LBFR-100 reactor installation is one of the main components of the innovation nuclear power system consisting of unified reactor installations of low capacity with fast neutrons cooled with the help of liquid-metal lead-bismuth coolants.
The LBFR technology ensures full natural safety and internal safe-security of the object. In case the experimental energy unit is successfully launched, it will become one of the first nuclear complexes of the 4th generation in the world. The construction of the pilot energy unit and the demonstration of the technological process offer a great challenge to the Russian nuclear technologies of generation IV on the international market, especially when modern tendencies require high safety level of nuclear power.

The LBFR-100 project is pilot for SC Rosatom in regard of developing large hi-tech nuclear projects jointly with a commercial partner.
The final product is a basic technology of the reactor on fast neutrons with a lead-bismuth heat carrier adjusted to commercial projects, with a module energy unit of 100 MWt (e) capacity and associated product line divisible by 100 MWt.
