Therefore, the quality of engineering personnel is one of the most important conditions for the development and successful operation of the economy, its competitiveness. We launch large industrial projects, new modern production facilities, for the implementation of which not only qualified specialists are needed, but people capable of constantly improving. Governor Sergei Morozov sets the task for us to create conditions for their preparation. The participants of the competition are real professionals in their field, it is their scientific research and everyday work that are the most important factors in the development of key industries for our region - the nuclear industry, mechanical engineering and instrument making, aviation and many others. And we are pleased that from year to year the number of participants in the competition is growing. Recall that the event was organized by the regional Ministry of Economic Development and Industry with the support of the Ulyanovsk Regional Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations. Applications for participation in the regional competition "Engineer of the Year 2020" were received from nine organizations in the region: JSC "Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant", Ulyanovsk State Technical University, JSC "Research and Production Association" Mars ", JSC" Ulyanovsk Instrument Engineering Design Bureau ", JSC" SSC RIAR ", Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation, UFIRE them. VA Kotelnikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, FBI "State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Ulyanovsk Region", OGKP "Corporation for the Development of the Utilities Complex of the Ulyanovsk Region". In total, 35 specialists took part in the competition, of which 17 were professional engineers and 18 young employees. There are seven candidates of science among the participants. Four contestants are undergoing postgraduate studies.
The competition was held in two directions: "Professional engineers" - for participants in the competition with work experience in engineering positions for at least five years and "Engineering art of young people" for specialists up to 30 years old inclusive. The competition committee noted that the participants traditionally show high the level of professional training and the novelty of technical solutions, which is confirmed by awards received by representatives of the engineering community of the region as a result of All-Russian competitions.
“Holding such competitions helps to preserve engineering traditions in the work of regional enterprises, to develop the institution of mentoring in the engineering environment for high-quality practice-oriented training of personnel. According to the results of the last year of the All-Russian competition "Engineer of the Year", 12 leading specialists from the Ulyanovsk region became laureates, they were awarded the title of "Professional Engineer of Russia" and were awarded the corresponding certificates and marks, "said Dmitry Vavilin, head of the regional Ministry of Economic Development and Industry.
The winners of the regional stage will represent the Ulyanovsk region in the All-Russian competition "Engineer of the Year 2020", the results of which will be announced at the end of this year.
